Several penguins of gigantic proportion have been reported throughout Florida.
The Sightings
In 1948, numerous people reported seeing a 15-foot tall penguin on Clearwater Beach, and the beast supposedly left huge tracks along the beach.
Around the same time, some people in a boat off the Gulf Coast reported seeing an enormous penguinlike bird floating in the water.
That same year, a private airline pilot saw a big penguinlike bird on the banks of the Suwannee River. Ivan Sanderson conducted a scientific inquiry into the latter two cases, but to no avail.
